Eight Faces at FEAR Zine Market
Every year since its inception in 2020, I’ve made two paintings for the innovative exhibition, One Hundred Faces at Playing in the Attic.
For the first time, all eight works can now be viewed together in Eight Faces, a newly created mini-zine. Featured on its front and back covers are advance views of the painted faces destined for the next One Hundred Faces exhibition, opening on 22 April. Works by British Arts & Crafts designer, May Morris, were primary points of departure for both paintings.

| Now Voyager, 2020 mini-zine (cover art) |
Moth Woman Press has hit the ground running in 2020. On Sunday 9 February we are participating in the legendary Sticky Institute Festival of the Photocopier Zine Fair, which this year will be held at Melbourne Meat Market. We are making four new zines especially for the event, including Now Voyager, the front cover of which is previewed above. A limited number of back-issues of Moth Woman Press publications will also be available.
In the light of the ongoing bushfire crisis, all proceeds from MWP zine sales will be donated to Wildlife Victoria’s Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Festival of the Photocopier 2020 is a two-day event. Moth Woman Press will be there on the second day, Sunday 9 February from 12 – 5 pm and we hope you will too.

Homo-insecta fly to Spain
In a year that’s currently dominated by moving house, if only from Melbourne to Ballarat, five Moth Woman Press zines are travelling somewhat farther afield. A full set of Homo-insecta mini-zines (Volumes 1 - 5) is heading for Vitoria-Gasteiz, the seat of government and capital city of the Basque Country in northern Spain.
Our thanks to Trudy Mclaughlin at Playing in the Attic, Ballarat, for sending them on their way. The Homo-insecta series and other MWP publications are also available at the splendid

ALICE (Part 2)
Featured in this post are page views of our latest Moth Woman Press publication, Alice, a mini-zine jointly inspired by a children's poem by Victorian poet Christina Rossetti and our cat, Alice. (See previous post).
It feels like Rossetti has reached across the centuries to pen this verse for our little Alice, so aptly does it describe her.
Despite the poem's references to hilltops and flowering valleys, all the photos in the Alice zine were taken in our back garden at Ballarat. It's one of Alice's favourite haunts - and she really does regard our 'cottage' as a palace.
(Click on images for a clearer view).
Copies of Alice are now available at Playing in the Attic in Ballarat. The zine retails for $4.00 and is limited to an edition of 60.

2018 Festival of the Photocopier Zine Fair
As outlined in our last post, Fallen Women has a more complex structure to our more familiar eight-page mini-zines. Its sixteen pages (fifteen illustrations in full colour, prefaced by a brief introductory essay) enable us to focus in more depth than ever before on the folkloric Shadow Women of Newstead Forest.
The Sticky Institute Festival of the Photocopier Zine Fair takes place at Melbourne Town Hall next Sunday, 11 February and runs from 12 - 5 pm.
