'Eventide' Floor Talk

The Story of the Moth Masks, 2016, mini-zine,
signed limited edition of 100

Busy times at Moth Woman Press

Lately, in tandem with developing a new mini-zine for a special event (more about this very soon) we have been making up extra copies of The Story of the Moth Masks, a mini-zine commemorating the current relief printmaking exhibition, Eventide, at Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery. Gracing the front cover is Cossodes lyonetii Moth Woman, the linocut I created for the show. Copies of the zine will be available at the gallery during the show's run and afterwards through Moth Woman Press.

Eventide was curated by Rona Green. This Sunday, 26 June, between 2 - 3 pm, Eventide artists Rona, Euan Heng and I will be in conversation at MPRG. If you’re free, do come along and join in.

For those who can’t make it, but plan to visit the show, the exhibition runs until 3 July.

Another Zine for Eventide

In the past week, activity on the cutting boards at Moth Woman Press reached fever pitch, as we made up zines and mini-zines for Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and the National Library of Australia in Canberra (more about the latter in forthcoming posts).

Directly below are a series of progress views of MWP's latest mini-zine, The Enchanted Hair OrnamentsThe pocket-sized zine is now on display in the shop at MPRG, together with its sister zine, The Story of the Moth Masks and There was once... The collected fairy tales, the book that not only spawned both of them, but also Moth Woman Press. The shop will stock all three MWP publications for the duration of the group exhibition Eventide, namely 13 May-3 July.

Both mini-zines are signed, limited editions of 100 and retail for $4.00.

A Zine for Eventide

On the cutting board this week: The Story of the Moth Masks, a brand new mini-zine destined for Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery. Created to coincide with the group exhibition, Eventide, the zine will be available in the gallery shop throughout the show's run. Gracing its front cover is Cossodes lyonetii Moth Woman, the linocut I made for the show. The mini-zine is a signed, limited edition of 100.

The title story made its debut in 2009 in There was once… the collected fairy tales, Moth Woman Press’s very first publication. There was once… will also be stocked by MPRG until Eventide draws to a close.

Eventide was curated by Rona Green and celebrates the art of the relief print. The exhibition is part of the Print Council of Australia's Year of Print

Exhibition dates: 13 May-3 July.
